Fn key always pressed?

Hello Sony users!

I've recently bought a Sony Vaio (VCEB3A4E). Soon after I started using it, the keyboard just went crazy without an obvious reason. The keyboard acts as if the Fn key is always pressed.

For example, when I press the number keys they act as F1, F2, etc keys (number 1 key opens the Help section in each program as if F1 was used...)

Also, when I turn the NumLock on to use the NumPad, I can't use the keys properly: when I press 1 it appears as 21. The F-keys are working fine but I can't use the left Shift, Ctrl or even the Esc Key.

I've tried every key combination that was supposed to solve the problem but it hasn't changed and definitely the NumLock is not the problem. Nothing relevant in Google, either.

Any ideas how to solve this because it's really driving me crazy!

Hey guys!

At the end I just gave up and took the laptop to the shop where I bought it. After some hours of trying to solve the problem, it became clear that there's nothing wrong with the software, most likely it was all because of a manufacturing defect. They apologised for the inconvenience and promised to get me a new Sony Vaio within 10 days.

@saki123, take the laptop to a specialist, maybe it's the same thing as mine.

@Blencogo, thanks for trying to help!

Message was edited by: gabby_niko
