I'm sure your FE-Series can run Windows 7 without too many problems.

Sony do not support Windows 7 on your model but did support Vista and most Vista drivers and Utilities will work with Windows 7.

You will probably have some driver problems to solve - graphics drivers can be a problem - but I'm sure they can be fixed.

I presume you have XP installed at the moment? Installing Windows 7 will mean a clean installation and you will lose all preinstalled Sony programs which cannot be replaced. You will also lose all data, programs, settings and data.

The choice is yours but as your Vaio was made to run XP, I would personally stick with it unless you have a particular reason to upgrade.
