Replacement software needed for Vaio PCG-492l

I purchased this a few years ago but lost the software when I tried unsuccessfully to upgrade from windows XP professional.

Unfortunately I didn't nake a back-up and this model didn't come with any discs which I think is very poor on the part of Sony given the cost of their products.

I don't see available downloads or discs for this model (PCG-492L).

Can anyone please advise if any other model's software will work and also where to obtain the discs from.

The reason you cannot find any details is because you are quoting an invalid Vaio model type. Have a look on the screen surround for the correct model type - it will be something like PCG-TR2MP. If you can't find it, please give us some of the Vaio's specifications (screen size etc).

That particular model was released in early 2004 and would have been supplied with a Recovery Disc when new.

Recovery Discs are specific to the model and cannot be used on another Vaio.
