VGN-NR38S Card Reader driver problem

Ive just changed my hdd on my vaio VGN-NR38S. I have tried to use the sd card reader and nothing works. There is a unknown device in device manager. When i try to update this, windows cannot find what it is. im sure its the card reader. Ive downloaded the driver from sony, only for it to be a .sys file. i have right clicked on the inf file and tried to install but it says; "the inf file you selected does not support this method of installation". im using vista home premium, 32 bit. Does anyone know how to install the correct driver? Thanks guys.

You will need to install the driver from within Device Manager.

In Device Manager, right-click on the Unknown Device and choose 'Update Driver'.
Choose 'No, not this time' -> 'Install from List or Specific Location' -> 'Don't Search, I will choose a driver to install' -> 'Have Disc' and browse to the downloaded driver folder and point at the .INF file.
