Firstly, "Hello"

Proud new owner of Vaio AW31M

It did have Vista as OS and included, and adobe elements installed.

I made recovery disks as my first task.

Then Upgraded to Win7, though ran it as a 'custom' install.

Now, obviously I dont have elements installed anymore

Does ayone know if I can get my elements back ?

Seems a shame (and an expense) if the cost of upgrading to W7 is the loss of this app !

P.S. I know the version of PE I had doesn't work fully on W7, but I was hoping to upgrade it with Sony's discount offer.

Many Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon.

The preinstalled version of Photoshop Elements is only licensed for use as part of the Sony OEM Operating System.

If you had upgraded using an UPGRADE version of Windows 7, you would have retained all the preinstalled software, data, settings etc. including PSE.

However, if you have chosen to carry out a custom install (format and clean installation) you will lose all the preinstalled software and, for licensing reasons, this cannot be recovered except by reinstalling the original Vista OS. Adobe will not allow it to be installed in any other way for obvious profit reasons.

The only way you will get it back is to revert to the original Vista OS and then UPGRADE to Win 7 as long as an upgrade route is supported by Microsoft.
