Hi, we have touched on my problem before, I am trying to connect panasonic mini dv camcorder to laptop, changed driver to legacy driver everything worked ok for a while but I am now back to problem of camcorder not being recognised. I am trying to check (if i can) that the firewire port is being recognised by laptop.

I have tried my camera and lead in other computers and everything works ok so I getting to stage where i think the port maybe faulty.

Thanks in anticipation of any help Mick

Hi, Could someone tell me how to access the bios on the laptop and how to check whether "firewire" port is enabled. I know that you press F2 on startup but cannot see how to access whether port is enabled.

Thanks in anticipation

Mick

I doubt if there is a setting in the Sony limited BIOS for this action. If it is there it will be listed as "IEEE 1394" and there will be a facility to Enable/Disable - but as I say, I doubt if it is there.

What is the problem you are having? What are you trying to import by firewire?

Is the IEEE 1394 device shown in Device Manager as working properly?

Is the IEEE 1394 connection shown in Network Connections as Enabled?
