Advice needed - Vaio Recovery Utility

Hi

Im relatively new and need a little help if possible please

My husband has a vaio VGN-SZ4XWN/C which appears to have a problem with its hard drive. We cant load it but have managed to get into the recovery wizard. Lucky for him he doesnt have any data stored on it but I want to understand what I will be left with once I start to recovery process.

Can anyone help/advise

Hi Sue,

the recovery utility should restore your vaio back to the original factory state, ie the original Sony supplied operating system and all of the pre-installed applications, as it was when you first used it.

Not any applications that you have installed on the Vaio or any data that saved to the HDD will be removed..

thanks for the reassurance. its doing a vaio hardware diagnostic check at the moment, hopefully that can give us some answers
