Hi

I have a Vaio VGN AR11M which is 27months old. The screen started developing vertical lines of varying colours, now about one third of screen is solid black in colour. Effectively as far as I can determine this means the screen is now needing to be replaced. I am firstly very disappointed in a product that I bought new has lasted such a short time.

What I have thought of doing is to buy an external monitor and a wireless keyboard as I tend to use the lap top for static purposes. Does anyone have any experience of this screen failure and does anyone think my solution is a reasonable one. I suspect it would be cheaper than having the VAIO repaired.

Any insights appreciated.
