The laptop itself is has been great, but a series of (v. expensive)battery failures (usually just outside the 6 month warranty) and problems with obtaining parts have finally persuaded me (my employer's IT dept has been there for a while) that great design and good machine spec just don't outweigh poor customer service. In one case I had to wait 6 weeks for a battery to come into stock. I would have been happy with an aftermarket replacement (much cheaper) but a Sony software update had made sure only Sony batteries would be recognised by the computer.
