Is it possible to fit a 'TV Card' into the PC slot on my Vaio PCG-Z1SP (below), in order to access information provided on TV texts. If so could you please advise on which one would be recommended.

Hi gyron,

Sony use AverMedia in some of their models - so have a look at this card, it seems to do most things.

There is a DVB-T version as well.

Most of Sony's newer laptops use 34mm pcmcia slots so be careful as this is a 53mm one.
It may be better if you consider a USB model instead as you can't go wrong then.
Plenty available on the likes of Amazon.
