Bought my vaio on friday (VGN AR71M) but the boot time is way slower than my old Acer 7720G. The new vaio has better processor and ram and graphics etc. the boot time is over a minte and a half and is generally slughish once in vista.

Did a compare of the windows experience rating and my old acer hard disk was 4.7 but the vaio is 4.5!! i know that the rpm on the vaio is 4200 and the acer is 5600.

Could this be the problem? Also i wanted to replace the HD anyway with a new one with higher cache (from 8 to 16) and higher rpm but they are all SATA 300 and the current drive is SATA 150.

I would like to know if i can still upgrade the harddisk or is there any other user with the same slow boot times?

Run vaio hardware diagnostics and it says everything is ok?
