Hi All
Anyone had this issue with their Viao before?

USB devices are recongnised and all looks good in device manager.
Problem first noticed when using a USB RS232 convertor which would cause the laptop to blue screen then shut down.
This would only happen when trying to transfer data via the RS232 convertor.
If you try to use a USB memory stick it corrupts the data on it if you try to access it. Any files you dont try to access remain ok.
Also if you copy a folder with any contents in it, it deletes the contents of the folder but the folder itself stays intact. This happens on both USB ports. Using a CF card in the PCMCIA slot all works fine.
Harddrive data seems fine and transfers over LAN ok too.

Checked for a virus, couldnt find anything.
Any ideas? Could this be a hardware issue?

Cheers
Steve
