Laptop Screen suddnly went blank PCG-FR-215S

Hi Guys

My Laptop suddnly switched off and now the laptop screen remains blank . The Laptop itself is working as I can swich it on an even the cd rom disc rotates. Just the screen remains blank. I have PCG-FR-215S Laptop. Anyone who can help me

Hi djinns,

It is probably a hardware problem. Can you see anything on the screen (is it just the backlight?)

Do you have access to an external monitor? If so try that to see if it works.

Thanks will try external screen. 2 months back the same thing happened but when I pressed F2 to go to the BIOS Setup the screen started working. This time its not working

This procedure I found in Internet Worked for me. If anybody has the same problem it can be tried.

Remove battery from laptop, then all connected devices, then unplug power cord. Now continuously hold down power button for a full 30 seconds, then release.
Now put battery back in, then plug in power cord ( leave off usb devices for now ). Then try to turn laptop on and see if screen turns on.
