System Restore

Hello Team Vaio,

can someone give me some answers about system resotre please, as advised by e-support, I am going to perform a system restore on my computer, to an earlier date, I am wondering once performed, will this clear previous system restore points or will they still be avaliable if the one I try fails? and also the Sony guy said that it wouldn't affect my data or recently modified fiels, I'm doing a back up, but is this correct?

Hi Andy,

System Restore will not clear previous restore points nor will it affect any data files. It will however clear any programs or updates installed after that date.

Well the System Restore function wouldn't work, so I plumped for a full Recovery of the C: volume. So far seems good, my DVD Ram drive is back (Yipee) and my system is running much faster at the moment, from a 4-5 minute start up to about 20-30 seconds. It's a bugger reinstalling everything but there we go,
