Brightness function doesnt work after clean vista install

Hi,
I upgraded my vaio VGN C2Z to vista ultimate with a clean install, i cant get the FN button to work for the brightness however it works for the sound. It also doesnt show the level up on the screen as it did before the install. Is there a driver i need to install or some setting i need to change??

Hi knipe_us,

Unfortunately Sony do not support Vista Ultimate (or any other operating system apart from the one that was preinstalled in your Vaio) and so they have not tested to see if any of their software works with this version of Vista. There does seem to be some additional issues when upgrading to Ultimate.

If I were you, I would try to reinstall the all the Sony Utilities. I would download the Preinstalled Utilities for your model and expand the download into a temporary folder. You then need to install at the least these four in this order -

Sony Utilities
Sony Shared Library
Vaio Event Service
Switch Setting Utility
