VGN-FE41Z Help/Advice Please

Very sorry for the long post
Just purchased the above laptop and having a few problems. Any advice would be of great help please.
Whenever I try to use the camera with MSN the system tells me it is already in use by another programme, so I have to restart the laptop and go straight onto MSN to get it to work. If I look under Device Manager I find two cameras under Imaging both identical VGP-VCC4. I have tried disabling one but this makes no difference.
Also while `playing around` I seem to have deleted all references to the inbuilt microphone. The system now tells me there is not one installed. Anyone any idea how to get it back please.
I have tried using `System Restore` everything goes through the motions but when it finishes it says it was unable to complete the operation and please try again, when the same thing happens. I have tried different dates also with no luck.
When I purchased the laptop the specs said the battery life was about 170 mins I am lucky if I get 60!!!
Lastly I have read on these forums that most people are trying to stop `My Club Vaio` running at start-up. Does anyone have a solution yet? I have tried the patch but it still runs at start up.

Hi Philmike,

Welcome to Club Vaio..

The camera problem has been reported to Sony and we are currently awaiting a fix..

For My Club vaio you should be able to stop My Club Vaio.exe from starting if you go to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks..

Then dis enable the MCV entry..

Here is a guide on how Sony determines the Battery Life for Vaio's.

However in normal use it's probably about half that time..

Sony also has a guide on how to maximize the battery life of a VAIO notebook , which you may find of interest..

Any idea how I can get my micophone back again and why system restore does not work.
