Hi,

I continue to have a problem with my wireless lan. At present i have had to manually configure the wireless adapter through Device Manager and set it to Channel 1.

Before upgrading to Vista from XP my wireless router was always set for autoscan and my old laptop would connect regardless of the channel the router was broadcasting from. Now I have manually set everything to one channel.

On my old XP laptop, because autoscan functions ok i can pick up 7 wireless networks on various channels. However, on the FE41Z on Vista I can only see 2 wireless networks. These two are both transmitting on channel 1.

At present i cannot connect to any wireless networks without already knowing what channel they are broadcasting. A bit difficult when you're trying to connect to a public network.

Does anyone know how to set the wireless adapter to Autoscan?

Thanks for anyone who even reads this.

Rich

Hi Rich,

Sorry to hear about your continuing problem.

Have you tried using the latest Intel Wireless LAN Drivers for Vista Home Premium?

You can download them from HERE AT INTEL

This does seem to have solved connection problems with Vista for many people.

Channel 7 is a good channel, works very well when you have neighbours running wifi equipment all around you.
