FE41Z HDD Size

Hi all,

First post on here, on my nice new Vaio, can somebody explain where the other 24GBs of my HDD have gone. The PC is meant to have a 200GB HDD and it's only showing as 176GB. Has Sony / Vista partioned (hidden) it for a reason?

I expected it was something along those lines.

24GB is way too much a drop though, and to be honest is false advertising as 1024 bytes is 1MB not 1000...

May have to mention this to the Advertising Standards Authority or trading standards.

Hi,

I have the problem with my Sony Vaio computer. My computer is also missing 16. something gigabyte. I don't have the solution for it. My Sony is FE31H This should have 120 gigabyte, but it's missing 16. something. Not Fair

You're not the only one with same problem here.

Hi Anyo,

The missing hard disk space is due to a difference in the way Microsoft & Manufacturers report hard disk sizes..

As a guide a 100Gb hard drive is reported by Microsoft as 93Gb

You can check the your hard drive in Computer management, right click on My Computer & select manage..

A new Computer management window should open, Select Disk Management, you should the total GB listed in Disk 0
