intermittent will not switch off fe21m

hello hope someone can help had my sony fe21m a few days now & find that occassionally applications will not open & when i try & switch off it gets stuck on save my settings this has niw happened a few times wondering if anyone else had got this i have all security etc & have a pc at home which has never done this any ideas -

When you can't open a program, can you press ALT+CTRL+DEL and go to processes, then double click on CPU, what's using the power?

When you say you have "all of the security " are you using all of the relavent anti spyware programs as well? (Spybot and Ad-Aware in particular)

Might be worth giving your system a scan with those progs.

It is possable that a Programme or a piece of Hardware is still running in the background.If you have Norton on,uninstall it and use something else.You can close all processes and programmes with crtl alt del,but you shouldnt have too.
