Function Key Problem

I have a VGN-S4M notebook.
Today I am not able to adjust the volume control by
pressing the Fn Key + F3/F4 respectively
The Fn Key + F5/F6 does not seem to be functioning either.
Have I locked / disabled something or do I have a HW problem?

Hi Hansc,

A recent update has corrupted your Sony Utilities.

Try navigating to C:\Utils and double clicking on Utils.exe. This should reinstall your Sony Utilities.

If this does not work, download the original Preinstalled Utilities for your Vaio from VAIO-LINK DOWNLOADS and unpack the compressed files to a temporary folder.

Install the following folders IN ORDER: -

1 Sony Utilities (Installer Folder 1)
2 Sony Shared Library (Installer Folder 2)
3 Vaio Event Service (Installer Folder 7)

and reboot your Vaio.

You may have to do this more than once to get a result.

Seems a bit complicated for me, but I will try.

AND EFFECTIVE RESOLUTION SUGGESTION.

Yes it took a twice to resolve the problem. Something I would
never have been able to work out.

Much appreciated and REAL ADDED VALUE FOR VAIO.
