Having recently uninstalled IE7 Beta 2 and installed Beta 3 I now get a start-up message reading:

C:/program files\sony\vaio\cooperated Initialisation\VCI_Task.exe
cannot access specified path.

Any idea?

Secondly I recently had a screen related problem that was fixed (for free) but I now have what looks like a scorched mark in the bottom left hand corner which creates a small 2-3mm triangle shadow. When I touch it it is very hot in comparison with any other part of the screen.

Again grateful for any ideas.

I am almost resigned to the fact that the screen is about to pack-in

Sounds like a registry entry looking for a file which isn't there

As for the screen, I'd have it looked at

Hi Kawasaki,

have a Sony VAIO VGN-A215M. When I install IE 7 Beta 3 I get the same start message, where VCI_Task.exe can't be found. At the same time, the VAIO energy options are missing, too.
I have not yet found the reason for that. I hope this problem will be fixed in the final version of IE7.

P.S.: Uninstalling IE 7 Beta 3 helps. After deinstallation this mistake is away.
