Click Start &amp;gt; All Programs &amp;gt; Accessories &amp;gt; Right click CMD and select ‘Run as Administrator’ – this may not apply depending on operating system – otherwise just open CMD.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN _mce_style="font-size: 12pt;" style="font-size: 12pt;"&gt;2. Type &lt;STRONG&gt;diskpart&lt;/STRONG&gt; and press enter.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN _mce_style="font-size: 12pt;" style="font-size: 12pt;"&gt;3.       <title>Write protection on all USB drives</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;Hi everyone,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;Since I received my new Sony Vaio SVE1711C5E I have been unable to write to USB drives.&lt;BR type="_moz" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;All of my other machines work with all of these USB's but my new laptop gets the message "disk write protecte- remove write protection".&lt;BR type="_moz" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;I have narrowed it down to being the laptop which is at fault and I can't for the life of me work out how to fix it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;I am very competent when it comes to using a computer so I have tried more than the basic few steps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;If anybody else has experienced this or knows how I could fix it I will appreciate it greatly!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;Thanks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P _mce_style="" style=";"&gt;&lt;SPAN _mce_style="font-size: 10pt;" style="font-size: 10pt;"&gt;Tom&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
