KD55XH9505 Unable to view some Freeview Channels.

I took delivery of my KD55XH9505 on Saturday but discovered that Freeview channels 251 to 271 will not open.  All these are internet delivered.  The details of each channel display at the bottom of the screen but the screen stays black. Other internet service such as Netflix and You Tube work.

Sony Customer Support have so far directed me to 2 non-existant menu options but I've manged to find, I think, where I was supposed to be.

Is anyone else with a KDXH9505 series TV able to open these channels?  If so could you point me to the settings I require, please.

Have you tried checking the channels after updating to the latest software version? Also, what are the 2 options you're referring to?

Hi Joe,

Yes I have carried out the Software update and a factory restet.

The first menu option I was sent to was

We recommend using HbbTV, as it will offer more information and services. However, you can switch back to the old (MHEG) function by following the steps below:

  1. Press the [Home] button on the remote to enter the Home menu
  2. Go to [Settings] > [System Settings] and press OK  to open the Settings menu
  3. Go to [Channel Setup] > [Digital Setup] > [Interactive Application Setup] [Interactive Application] > Set select Off
  4. Press the [Home] button on the remote to exit from the Settings menu and return to the broadcast
  5. Pressing the red button or [Teletext] button on the remote will launch the MHEG application*

*NOTE: If the issue continues after step 5, please unplug and then replug your TV's AC power cord.

This menu option does not appear on my KD55XH9505.

The second was

1-Disconnect any external devices connected to the back of the TV.
2-Unplug the main power cord of the TV, and plug it back after 2 minutes.
3-Make sure that the TV is running the latest software version following the link below:
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xh95xx_x95xxh-series-55-65-75-/kd-55xh950...
4-Perform factory reset: Home - settings - storage and reset- factory reset

There is no Settings - storage and reset menu option on my set.
