Two questions, if anyone can help?

1. I can't seem to change the screen display from full to other formats when watching films on Apple TV and Netflix. 

2. I also need to know how to check that the display is in 4K resolution.

Welcome to the Sony Community.

Are you referring to displaying the screen in wide mode?

In answer to your 2nd question, your TV should automatically display HDR compatible content.
