You don’t say which soundbar you have but on my Sony HT-ZF9 there is a setting on the soundbar. Home -> Settings-> HDMI Settings-> Standby Through. It allows me to put the soundbar into Standby and the sound plays through the TV speakers. Sky Q -> HT-ZF9 -> KD-55XE9305. Not that I would ever use it, I prefer the soundbar every time.
