Hello,
I just bought a few days ago a my first Vaio laptop (switched from Dell model). One of the main reasons why I switched to Vaio was its light weight !!! But, surprisingly, the AC adapter that comes along (an 19.5 V) is not only quite big but heavy ;-( . Does anyone knows if a light-weight AC adapter is available - for my Vaio model - on the market place ??? Thanks for your support.
I personally would not use any adapter than the supplied one unless it was Sony branded and identical.
19.5V adaptors are big but look at the laptop.
If its heavier than the Laptop then perhaps I would think otherwise.
whats wrong with the adaptor? its not that big, it is normal size its a step down transfomer from 230v-19.5v.
Mine is big and heavy too compared to other brands.
On the other hand, it's never more than hand-warm and seems to work very effective.
I noticed that very small adaptors tends to become very hot or they overheat.

Yes, I have seen adapters for laptops which wasn't much bigger than the adapter of my old mobil-phone.
Surprisingly if that is enough to power an laptop.:smileyconfused:
The S5 adapter is less than half the size of the GRT/GRX adapters. The size is directly related to the power consumption of the notebook.
