Accu charging

Hello,

on my vaio PCG K115 S the accu is permanently charging with WinXP Prof SP2 in the tray but not by the led of the notebook itself.

Does somebody know a solution ? Is it perhaps a windows problem ? I also had this years ago with a compaq E 500.

Once the battery reaches 100% (fully charged) the computers charging array for the battery is disabled. The battery is then disabled and the computer uses the DC input from your AC Power block connected to the mains.

SO: The charging array is then (after 100%) disabled...

You also do not give a solution !

Why is it not disabled at SONY laptops but at others ??

Who has enough knowledge of windows ????

Ok, but I here no sound, and the hardware LED stops after full charging, but the tray icon in windows further indicates: "charging".

It's the same on my VGN-FE11M. No noticeable sound at the end of the charging process and "charging" icon always on when plugged.

So it is a windows problem, but as it does not always occur there must be a solution !

Please, explain this better. Do you mean that this does not occur always with notebooks or with this particular one?

My Vaio always have the charging icon, but my old notebook regularly changed the icon to "plugged" when fully charged.

So has it a hardware reason because of special sony mainboard (does not fit good with Win2000 for example !!), or is it because of this special hardware (e.g. ali-PCI-bus) and its interference with Windows XP.

I do not know. I supposed it was due to the version of XP (home was ok on the old notebook, media center ed. was not with my new one), but after reading your post I think I was wrong and maybe it's an hardware incompatibility, since you are using XP pro.
If I manage to free some time, I will try installing Linux. Then if the problem lasts it's hardware, otherwise it may be XP.
I will post here the results.

I am interested ONLY in true solutions please ! (What BartK says is a common place, I know windows/microsoft often has faults !)[

You are right! There's someone who has thousands of posts where he/she writes not very useful things, but if you post something interesting more than once, he/she starts writing you are spamming without giving a TRUE answer. I will look for finding a true one.

Answer:

Yes, that is right. On my other notebooks before (Compaq) it does not occur, but it was Windows2000 !

I have an old Compaq Presario Laptop with XP, this is also ok, icon changes after accu is full charged !

So IT IS a problem of SONY and their hardware, a malfunction together with Windows XP !!!!!!!!!

The SONY Online-Support (they are idiots !!) says this is normal with all VAIOs but this indicates a problem of these notebooks with WinXP.

They are NOT interested to solve this problem THOUGH they have to do the support FOR Microsoft because they get from MS the cheaper OEM-versions of WInXP!

But they are lazy ! Perhaps some housewives in the support with small knowledge.... 🙂
