My keyboard on Sony PCV-V1/G is has failed. I am using a wired keyboard but cannot increase the brightness on screen because control was on wireless keyboard. Is there another way to increase screen brightness. I have tried using display in control panel but the screen lacks contrast. Thanks.
Can Sony not sell you a new keyboard?
Probably. I am waiting for a response from e support to see if there is a work around. Have just bought a new slimline keyboard in silver and black with hot keys which includes calculator button and really comfortable to use. It was from Argos at a cost of £14.95. The Sony Wireless keyboard was only 2 months old and accidently got splashed with some coffee. I have stripped it down and found 2 corroded printed circuits which the liquid must have damaged. I am going to attempt to repair with liquid silver conductive paint . Have you ever used e support or e mail support ?. I was wondering about their response times. I sent request on 20th October and am still waiting. I bought the computer in a few months ago so it is well within the warranty period for support. Regards.
Good news on keyboard. Stripped it down and repaired damaged printed circuit using conductive silver paint. This has repaired the circuit for the brightness control and has enabled me to increase the brightness to comfotable levels. Still waiting for response from sony . Would be handy to know the work around in case any other owner has problems using the brightness control on sony keyboard. Regards
