burn data on a DVD

please... How can save data into a dvd? Do I need any special software? I have win xp pro, and all the pre-instaled software that comes with Vaio... but I can not find a way to do it!

Drag n Drop is quite straight forward. Start the program and insert a blank disc. Three boxes appear. Then in XP explorer select and drag the files you want to copy to cd/dvd into the data box. It does a swirly vortexy indication it has copied ready for burning. On the data box right click and select edit layout. The edit layout dialogue appears showing the files and most important the size. Drag n drop will backup almost any data on a DVD but only up to 4 gig (size on disk) no more. In the options ensure you select 'test and record' and close the disk as it may waste your new dvdr or cdr. When ready Burn.
