Chargers

Hi there.
I own an A215M and an older 807K. Are the two charger units interchangeable? They appear to be the same just have very slightly different model numbers, but obviously I don'y wish to damage the 215M.

Any ideas?

Check the output info on the AC-adapters. Both the F807 and the A215 should be on 19Volt, but thats not all you need to check.

The AC-adapter also states the A it can deliver. The replacement AC-adapter should have at least as much A as the original one. If it does not have enough, you might overheat your AC-Adapter and/or damage your Vaio.

They appear to be the same as both output 19.5V. They have practically the same model number PCGA_AC19V wheareas the newer one is PCGA_AC19V3.

Doesn't look like it was any major upset, thanks for your replies.

In the meantime, while the VAIO is a gorgeous machine, I have tired of both Windows and machines deliberately crippled by Sony and have bought myself an iMAC G5. Now things actually work, I have the choice of whether to buy a DTT PVR or not and! -even this forum has ceased to crawl! 🙂
