Cover pixel sizes

I've been playing around with my Vp a lot recently - trying to work out the native pixel dimensions of the cover art images so that they don't get resized by the player (and look crap as a result) - so far to no avail.

Does anyone know the exact native pixel dimensions of the cover art images when they are displayed on the player's screen?

So far I've been using 96x96px for my album art images, but these appear to get distorted on the player and in SS.

I'd be grateful for any help offered.

I think QVGA (320X240 Pixel) may be I'm wrong. My DSC-L1 has the same resolution.

Thanks Seb,:smileyhappy:
You're not far off - The full screen size is actually 320x256 pixels (according to the manual anyway).

I'm actually after the native dimensions of just the cover image, as displayed on the 'now playing' screen. If I can work these dimensions out I can ensure the images won't be resized incorrectly on the player to fit the screen.

No problem,

But I'm surprised, that a player with this price, doesn't have a higher resolution.

I mean, for a digital camera is that OK, but for a player like this one?

I guess they could have made it higher res, but then it is still quite a small screen, and for it's size, the resolution is quite high. I was impressed by the clarity of it when first using the VP.

Comparitively, my Sony DSC-p93 camera has a screen about 2/3 the size of the VP, but @ 280 x 240 it's still quite usuable.:smileyhappy:

?

Has the DSC-P93 not a higher Resulotion(134000Pixel)

My DSC-L1 has 76800Pixel, but with 320X240.
It's a 1,5 TFT hybrid LCD (no idea waht is an TFT hybrid LCD)
but it's very good.

very interesting.

Nope

It's a 3.8cm (1.5" i think), 67200 pixel screen at 280x240

That's straight out of the manual.

I'm not suprised the L1 has a better screen - it's a slightly newer model.

He,He I'm surprised about Sony

Link (look under LCD/Viewfinder)

I'm a little bit confused.

Yes, L1 is a nice camera, but it has no manually controls.
I think next time, when I have too much money (may be in 100years), then I buy the DSC-V3

Hi

I'm not sure what the actual display size is but I suspect there are several - Sonic Stage has a number depending on how they are viewed & the player also has a number.

I scan CD liner artwork and resize/resample to 320x320 pixels at 75pixels/inch which gives really excellent results in SS and on the VP.

I've discovered that if you don't make them square there is a visible edge on the image - a problem here with multiple CDs where sometimes the liner is not square - I either crop one side or stretch it a bit in the resample.

(By the way I use Corel Photo Paint to create the images)

Also a possibility, to adapt a picture.

I use Photoshop CS for things like these. It makes really good results.

But, why is good software so expensive:smileycry:

You can find many good infos about photoshop an CO. on this website.
