DVD +/- R/RW...

Hi folks

Wanting to delve into burning dvd's for mass media storage.

The array of recordable DVDs in places such as PC World is massive. Can anyone recommend what sort of DVD media is compatible with a Vaio VGN A117s, as i'm not sure what the real difference between the +/- R/RW is, and what difference the speed makes.

Many thanks.

Hi

If you download Nero InfoTool from ahead.de, it will have ticks against the media you can read / burn to.

If your drive can handle both, then it's up to you which you want to use, as there's nothing different about either of them.

R means you can write once, read many, RW means you can write many times and read many times, like a floppy disk but a lot bigger.

The only thing you need to be aware of is if your drive can only handle single layer disks then avoid dual layer disks as they are expensive and not always compatible
