DVD writer not writing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help, my dw u50a firmware 1.5g on my PCG GRT 815e will burn data to CD and DVD but not onto DVDRW.

I'm using Nero 6 and an error comes up illegal disc?

Do you think this is a hardware or a software problem.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Illegal disk usually means the grade of the disk isn't good enough for the writer.

Try TDK and Memorex, there's a deal in Tesco at the moment.

I've been using sony branded discs, surely they would be of a good enough quality?
