I have a VGC V2M. Am I correct in assuming that, if I connect a Freeview set-top box, between the aerial socket and the the computer, I should be able to receive and record Freeview channels ?? A simple question, I know, but just wanted to check before I invest !!

Theoretically yes - practically, I'd take the laptop to the shop and ask to try before you buy ...

You can if the box can connect to svideo and then in Gigapocket you use the external channel

Or you can tune a channel in Vaio Zone to the output chanel of your STB (as you would tune your telly to CH 36 for your VCR)

Don't forget that a VGC V2M is a PC !!

For your model read "Vaio Zone" for "Gigapocket".

If your STB has the connections, you can connect by Audio L, Audio R and Composite Video (or S-Video) and it should show up in Vaio Zone as "Video 1" or "Video 2".

Or you can set your STB coaxial output to a fixed chanel (Say 36 or 50) and connect with an ariel cable - you will then have to scan for the new channel in Vaio Zone.

Or just get a nifty scart to phono converter
