Help required for Sony vgn-cr11s

Hi

I hope you can help. My friend has a sony vgn-cr11s running Vista, but since she has purchased it, she has never been able to get into the control panel. Everytime you try to open it, it says internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have remoted in but cant see anything that would be causing this. She has tried to reformatt, but the same thing still happens.

Has anyone got any idea what she can do to fix this problem.

She could try downloading and installing Microsoft Vista Hotfix KB929637 (Windows6.0-KB929637-v2-x86.zip) from here: -

I'm not sure if it will help but it can't do any harm!

Google Toolbar has also been known to cause this message.
