Hibernate Tab VGN-A397XP

Hi All

Had this laptop for about 6 months and noticed whenever I selected hibernate mode when I press the power button it goes into standby. Just got around to fix this and discovered the Hibernate Tab is missing from the Power Options. The previous Sony Vaio could hibernate - this one can as well?

Any suggestions

Cheers
Paul

Hi Paul,

How much free space do you have on your hard drives as hibernate writes an image of what you're currently working on to a special file on your hard drive..

Try this to access Hibernate mode, click Start, and then click Turn off computer. Press and hold the Shift key. The label under the first button changes from Stand By to Hibernate. Click Hibernate...

They say you should leave 2x the RAM installed for a decent hibernation.
