High ACPI & HD0 temperatures

Model PCG-GRZ615M

My laptop is getting very hot, Speedfan utility states ACPI @ 81degree C, HD0 @ 52 degree C. Unfortunately doe not show any data regarding the fan(s) although fan seems to be on.

Sometimes shuts down due to excessive heat.

Looked in BIOS but cannot see any thermal control option.

Would appreciate any help.

It sounds like your fans may be clogged up with dust. It takes remarkably little to impair the cooling process.

I would try dislodging this with a can of compressed air through the vents and see if this helps - if not you may have to think about taking your Vaio apart to get at the fans.
