Welcome to ClubVAIO

You can use the drivers and utilities from the C1 as the hardware is much the same.

C1 Series Preinstalled Drivers

C1 Series Preinstalled Utilities

Download both and install all the utilities.

Extract the Drivers ZIP folder to "C:\Drivers"

In device manager (Right-click on My Computer and click properties, on one of the tabs is a button for device manager) right click on the hardware items with out drivers and browse for the drivers and install them.

Hope this helps you

If the FTP server isn't working then it maybe worth letting sony know the problem so they can work out what is wrong.

VAIO-LINK Contact Info

Can you get anything off the server? Maybe updates for your C2?

Hello Vaio Master,

I am also interested in replacing Windows Vista with XP, but thought that installing

XP on a fresh hard drive would be the best route to take. However, I have determined

that removing the original hard drive is not as simple as on many other laptops.

I have a VGN-N21Z (purchased today) and will use it solely for work. Have you ever

removed a hard drive from this or a similar Vaio laptop, or can you tell me where

to find instructions to do so?

Thank you for any pointers you are willing to share.

Welcome to ClubVAIO Larry

Removing the hard drive is probably more trouble than its worth. The one you already have is reasonable.

If you have decided you no longer want the Vista operating system then make some back up discs, the utility is found on the start menu and is called VAIO recovery. You will need 2 DVDs.

You can now insert an XP disc at start up and load it over the top of the vista partition.

When installed use this driver pack for the N11S as this is almost identical to your machine except it had XP.

The utilities for your VAIO on XP are here .

Hope this helps
