Hi, not sure if this will help, but there is an update for the camera on the AR31S. Not sure what model you have, but maybe there is a similar update for you? It might restore your camera to how it should be.

thanks for this and it is what e-support suggested to me...

i hold my breath....cos it did restore, but i lost again very soon after....

it is just very disappointing.... the reason i bought the VGN FE41s was FOR the integrated cam.... i had no idea there would be all these problems...

Well, I have recently bought an AR31S and like a lot of people on here, I am experiencing "camera in use by other program" issues. Not found a solution yet, but it seems that Skype hogs the camera and doesn't let go. But I've not been using Skype recently and when I go to turn the camera on, I find it is "in use". Shutdown and turn-on seems to cure it sometimes but restart doesn't work.

Do you have skype auto-starting when windows starts? Try disabling skype?

Welcome to the "My motion eye camera does not work " Club. The integrated webcam on these things is a load of old rubbish! I have one on my BX297XP it has never worked properly. Fortunately I bought a Sony laptop webcam, a VGP-UVC100 when they (were all too briefly,) on the market . It is a lovely little webcam, the image is pin-sharp,loads better than anything Logitech has ever produced. Please bring that one back on the market Sony!
