New Battery - how long do i charge it for?

Hi,

My new VGN-S4XP arrived today and I've put it on charge but there seems conflicting opinions on how long to charge it for on its intial charge.
Does anyone know for sure?

also, the battery chargin indicator went out after about 1:40-2hrs of charging, is that normal?

well normally for the first time i would charge it abit longer about 8-10hrs or more.. but then again i leave my power adapter on all the time so its doesnt make much difference.. it will stop charging once the battery is fully charge..
but recently i took out my battery because i always had it plug in with power adapter (i used my laptop as desktop) and only put the battery in once a month discharge charge n take it out again.

Doesn't it indicate this in the manual?
I am sure I saw this in my manual on the GRX....

No I've checked all the manuals that came with it. Well I can't see it anyway but there is quite a lot so it's possible I've missed. I've decided I'm gonna leave it over night to be on the safe side.
