nightmare transferring music

i can't get anything to transfer onto my brand new 40gb vaio pocket, have insalled the firmware, formatted the hdd, reset, reinitialised and everything else i can think of to no avail. have updated ss (which is awful btw) to 3.1 but whenever it claims to have transferred anything it doesn't appear on the player. saw in some other threads that i should be able to reset from within ss but can't find the option, can anyone help? i'm going mad with all this at the moment....

Hi riotstar, im prob not gonna be much help, as im new to this gadget myself,, ive not upgraded any firmware (yet) and had no probs operating,it, .. but was wondering , do you have music cd's stored in (my music) on your windows media player? if so have you tried using the (vaio music transfer) option to put music on to your device? it opens a li'l box on your screen then u can access (my music) and drag n drop the music files across, ,of course you still need sonic stage for if and when you decide to delete music from the player,, this may sound patronising and if so i apologise, but you never know how knowledgable different different peeps are on the subject,, If no luck maybe a friend could try installing and using on a different pc,, just to see if it is the player that has a prob,, best wishes with getting it sorted... Technology's an amazing thing..... WHEN IT WORKS , Rare is the person who hasn't experienced gremlins at some time...........

another thing,,,,, did you use the (safely remove hardware ) from the task bar on the bottom of your pc screen to disconnect your player after moving files? and not just pull out the usb lead? as i guess this may affect things,,?? it may not of course, twas just a thought,, Maybe someone with more experience than myself would know?
