Ny more infor on the freezing problem?

Does everyone who experiences the stupid freezing problem use msn messenger? I left my laptop a couple of times running only msn messenger, and both times it froze up. after turning it on again, i didnt bother loading up messenger and it hasnt froze yet. has anyone noticed any similar patterns? It could just be coinsidance, but Im hoping its just that and not actually anything wrong (mainly cos i dont want my laptop to spend another 6 weeks in germany)

what version msn do u have and r have u installed any plugins on it? i havent had any problems in the past at all, i leave my notebook on 24 hrs a day (that was my dell). i run msn 6.2 with messenger plus, not 7/beta and also have the stuffplug

yeh ive done all that, still seems to freeze when its running. its fine if theres sometiing else happening at the same time, like playing music or something. I thought they fixed it when it was at the repair centre in germany for 6 weeks, obviously not.

Ah I see. You've had the problem before, sent it to Sony and they sent it back after 6-weeks with the same problem.

I'd be having a word with Sony if I were you.

trust me, iva had many a word with sony. So far ive got 3 months extra warranty out of it, whoop de do, so what about fixing my laptop? A warranty is pretty useless unless I can rely on it for repairs and services... but hey, 3 months of apparantly useless warranty, thanks sony.

Anyway, I uninstalled messenger and it still frezzes so that kinda rules that theory out. Now I think it could be the wireless lan adaptor. I switched it off and its not froze so far (but obviously now its switched back on so I can leave this post). Im leaving a record of every time this thing freezes on esupport untill its sorted out, weather that means them fixing it like their warranty states, or me taking legal action.

You're right Matt, if the warranty doesn't get it fixed it's an empty gesture.
