PCV-W2 Hardware Monitor - Power Fan Speed N/A

On booting the computer I get directed to the Hardware Monitor in the Bios, and the message 'Power Fan Speed N/A' - sometimes I can manage to get the system going for 10 minutes, sometimes not. Loud 'whirring' fan noise. Can anyone help? Has anyone had this problem? No new hardware / software installed. No recent changes etc....

Thanks!

One of your fans has died I'm afraid.

You need to see if you can easily replace it with a standard case fan

Thanks for your reply. Sometimes the fan does seem to rev up.....

In any case, can you give and advice on opening the W2 - it doesn't appear obvious. And what would you recommend as a 'standard case fan'?

Thanks again.

Opening the W2 isn't going to be very easy at all - maybe Hits has some ideas (sorry to put you on the spot mate)

A standard case fan is 80mm

PAPST fans are good. Enermax too. But look, what for a kind of connection you need.

Update!
Before doing anything I made a last desperate attempt! And took the vacuum cleaner to the air vents (obviously from outside the case). And guess what? Problem solved - i.e. several days now, all running normally. I had already tried the compressed air solution, but it was 1800 watts of suction that did the trick. I know it can't be a recommended solution, but doesn't it beat expensive repairs and the inconvenience?
Thanks to all.
