Power Saving Processor.....

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is anyway to turn off the power saving mode on a vaio pcg-k415b? the problem i am having is that the processor will not run at the full 3.06 GHz (apart from straight after startup) and when i go to play dvds or games it is very laggy. it never use to do this as it always seemed to be running at the maximum speed but now when i look it is usually running at 784 MHz. any ideas?

Hi

I have a K115Z and use Speedswitch XP

This allows you to lock it at 3.06MHz when doing serious work. Nice and easy to use.

Anywhere on the desktop right click/properties/powermanagement set the power on scheme to Vaio optimized. You can test this scheme if you go and get your particular processor utility from Intel and keep setting and restarting till it establishes a reliable power management Intel.
