Hi,
since I had some "problems" with my C:\Utils folder, I deleted it, I can't get the powerfunction program back I was used to have before.
So, my fan is working all the time, more or less.
Sometimes on more speed, depending on the powersetup I choosed.
But before I had it nearly silent when I was working normal on the Vaio.
How can I get the original powersetup programm back?
Thanks
Yes, thanks.
But this is what I tried maybe 5 times already.
There is not the driver/tool included to "setup" the speed of the fan.
I downloaded all available drivers and tools and reinstalled them.
The menu entry in the batteryproperties is not there anymore.
Because the fan is driving me crazy I guess I have to reinstall the system.

Thus, if you are still using the preinstalled Operating System and didn't delete the C:\Utils folder (for recent models) or still have your Recovery CD's (for older models), you do not need to download this package.
What tempretures are you getting? If they're high then thats why the fan is running a lot
Thanks,
I tried it.
But how can it help with the fan problem?
The fan is still blowing when the CPU is running on 600MHz.
Ok, its blowing slow. But before with the Sony PM Tool it was running even lower/more silent.
I'm still locking for the original Sony power management tool/program.
Thanks anyway.
Not entirely helpful, but if you have tried all else back up personal files and do a recovery.
Hopefully that will restore full functionality.
The actual Temp is between 43-50 degrees.
I will try to "play" around a bit more and if I can't get it changed I might realy try the recovery function.
Thanks for your tips.
p.s. I checked out all the original driver/utils. There is only 1 ACPI driver. Nothing else links to the powermanagement. So I don't see what programm/tool is responsible for the PM function I'm missing now.
Just a thought, you probably have done this, but have you checked that the air vents are clear?
What Vaio do you have?
