Hi Opie,

Try to disable all security settings on the router. Also, give access to all Mac adresses. You also can try to update the driver of the wireless card (sometimes this helpes, mines was living it's own live, untill I updated the driver with the new one).

One of these things should work out, I think.........

Yes I have. I did start all the settings again and again.
The netwerk is available but can not connect. With a cable I do not a problem and also an other old laptop was started without probleems. So I think there is no problem with the router. It must be the new laptop in my oppinion.

Do you use the Router as DCHP server or not.
If not then you must activate this feature on the Router or you must configure a static IP address.

You need for this the correct address of the standard gateway. (use the same for the DNS-Server). Look at the manual of the Router. There you can find the correct addresses. The standard address for the Subnet is 255.255.255.0

Then you must chose a IP address.

Check whether the network name and the network key is correct.
I would use :

WPA-PSK
TKIP (or AES, try both. If you can't connect with AES then use TKIP)

check wether the Router accept new Network addresses. You must deactivate the MAC-address filter for this. If you are connect, activate the MAC-address filter again.

If you use a static address, then I would deactivate the DCHP-server feature on the Router. I would deactivate the UPNP function on the Router too. (If you need this for any program, then do this not.) Read your manual of the Router for this.

Current status:
- router functiosn ok, since other laptop works with same configuration
- MAC address added to router (doublechecked)
- WAP key correct (doublechecked)

still no success.
When using a seperate WLAN PCMCIA card, connection is made without problem.
I have no clue what is going on here, isn't there any logging where I can see what is really the problem.

That's really strange.:smileyshocked: And I have no idea why that not works.
