After buying 1gig of ram (corsair) and replacing it with one of the two 256mb modules on my VGN-A117s I started having problems with WinXP. It just freezes sometimes. I thought that it might be because the two modules inside not beeing compatible (the ones that the laptop came with were infineon). So I decided removing the 256mb module which is located under the keyboard.
I had a look at www.vaio-link.com to see how am I supposed to remove the keyboard, but I can't do it.
I pushed the three clips and tried to lift the keyboard but no luck. It seems like there's something else holding it there. Shall I try harder? I was quite cautios when pulling it.
Is there anybody who can give me an advice?
Thanks!
There are two screws next to the memory compartment on the underside of yoyr notebook that secure the keyboard. Have you removed these?

After reading your post I had a look in the manual and it mentions the two screws but I'm not very patient at reading. Some I haven't seen that before.
Thanks again.
