Hello,
I own a VAIO PCG-FR315B and I love it...
but....
I have the following problem:
1. I play many games that require Direct-X.
2. After playing such games I return back to Windows.
3. My screen flashes madly for about two to five minutes...
Any solutions to this?
Thank you.
What version of DirectX are you using?
oh... that's better....
first thing, it's hard to find my own posts here... on this forum... I've seen free and non-profit forums on the Internet where you can find your posts easy, this one for example:
http://www.suicideforum.com/
I really would like this forum to be fixed, for when I need help, I just get the feeling that my posts disappear... sorry but with Sony's money and power they can afford a better forum for paying customers.
Here's a friendly advice:

But back to my original problem:
My Direct-X version is: 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
My graphics adapter is: RADEON IGP 345M
I'm running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) with all possible vital updates and cool getups from Microsoft site.
The screen keeps flashing for my favourite "Yuri's Revenge" game by Westwood.... as well... I don't care for other games that make my computer flash like this... but I really love that game, and I'd like to enjoy my computer even after playing it....
I downloaded all patches from Westwood as well, but as long as they say: "if it happens to other games, then it's not our problem, but yours".
Other games include, but not limited to: "Microsoft Age Of Empires II" -- where screen flashes even inside the game... and "Warcraft The Frozen Throne"....
Thank you for your continuous support.
Hey Purple,
As you know, most of us don't work for Sony, but I agree that vBulletin is the better forum.
Anyway more importantly, have you got Service Pack 2?
As you have done everything possible to remedy it yourself I would call Sony about this problem, as I can't think of why DX is flickering for you.
Normally you can get it fixed within 4 working days.
Yes, I have the Service Pack 2.
Thank you. I hope this be fixed... one day.
So do I, it's not good it not working...
I was kindly invited to join Sony Vaio e-Support Web Portal

Now we'll get rocking !
Good for you Yuri.
Try not to go off the handle though
