Hello i have a vaio FE11s for about 3 months but today when i was surfing the web my screen went dark and all i can see was the mouse icon. After hibernating and start again everything was fine... any ideia about what it was? ... was pretty strange

Thanks

Maybe the vga went too hot!
What's your vga temperature?
It may be a virus.....scan your computer!
You may need to reinstall chipset drivers of your vga!
It could be many things......but you should ask for professional opinion!
Call sony service!

That is the problem when you splatter posts on the same subject all over the place.

The real problem with this forum is that it's so badly organized that posts are easily missed and so you should post several times.

Moreover, I opened NO new posts... I always replayed in other posts and since there are several posts talking about the same problem I replied in all the pertinent ones!

Please, stop considering me a splatter/spammer!

There are thousands of useless posts on this forum, while I am posting for a real and severe problem which impacts working activities as well!

Now the real stuff! I managed to get my credential for the e-support, but the answer was not encouraging: they cannot do anything with 3rd party software and suggested to use the latest updates (I'm currently using).

I believe the problem is withing Sony nVidia drivers...

Thank you! It's not a problem of temperature (it happens only with Java applications). I think it's not a virus (I checked the system) and a lot of users have the same problem in the same conditions.

I will try to reinstall video driver. I've already contacted the service.

Thanks again!

Hello i use a VGN-FE11S and i had lots of times a black screen but that's because i use a lot of times very graphical programs . And when it goes black it's for two reasons :
a) the java that you're useing isn't good so when you start any java application it gets black , i recomment you do the following thing go to sun.com and download the JRE 1.6 beta version sometimes you can't uninstall the JRE1.5 version or it gives problems , it's a problem of JAVA a bug or something

b) if your screen just flashes like for 1 second black and then returns back to the normal screen it's because of the interrupts , maybe it's to much to process it from the CPU or there is a conflict between the two cpu's i don't know , ask the engineers who developed it

Maybe, after erasing the OS you did not install Java, so the problem does not occur anymore... but I need Java for my work!

The first suitable solution! Thank you very much! I'll try the 1.6 beta a.s.a.p.!

I've tried Java 1.6 beta 2 JDK + JRE and it works fine!

Thank you very much, ilaureyns!
