Should i delete my recovery partition?

hey all havent visited for a while now but here goes...
BTW i have a S3 XP. im about to format my pc (its being a b#stard) and i have realised for a while now that my C: is very low on space and is playing havoc when i use photoshop etc and also defragmenting so i think the best thing normally is to adjust my partition sizes to give c: a bit more space but when i do this will it automatically format d: in the process?
obviously i would like as much space as possible on my hard disk (i use my external 300Gb a hell of a lot, also nearky full) as i see that the the hidden partition takes up about 10gbs, should i delete it will it give me problems later on? i have made two sets of the recovery discs just in case...but will i be able to restore the hidden partion in the future with my discs so all the install apps are there?

You really need to test your recovery disks first but it's your call. At least see if they start to recover but don't comit. Man some prick just tried to hack me again this forum is really a worry!

Yes, I agree with Tony. Delete the partition only then if you are sure that you recovery DVD works. Check for new updates on VAIO-Link. There was an update for the recovery software which you need to burn a fault-free DVD. 2 copies are always better than one. Forget the cheap discs from Aldi, Lind and all the other. Use Verbatim or maybe Intenso. Use DVD-R.

Mornin Seb21 I have a cronic tooth ache so I'm a bit cranky if you hadn't noticed. I think I get intruder alerts because I'm using Netscape 8.0.2 (I like the tabbed interface). I just upgraded my .................not telling Internet Security offering and it hosts in the toolbar of explorer but not netscape I think I'll stick with explorer. BTW I have the IP number of the intruder what do you suggest. Get nasty (get me army unix mate onto him) or just report him to abuse.com. Maybe this will calm me down

Do you use an Wireless Router and the Sygate Firewall? I got a similar attack. But it was my own Router which tried to connect my Wlan card. Check the Firewall settings. There should be an option to block all connection if the Firewall if the Firewall is not complete loaded. You must disable it then.
